Bambir, 2 October 2005

Bambir are once again playing at the Stop Club this evening. Show starts at 9-9.30 pm and will continue to midnight with a slight intermission. Tickets are priced at 1,000-1,500 AMD as usual.

It’s been interesting to hang out Stop, and not least because you end up in conversations with msuicians, including those who play at Poplavok but who choose to relax at Stop instead of the hangout of the pseudo-elite, famous and tourists. Nice location, but atmosphere has always been dull, in my opinion.

I didn’t realize, for example, that the musicians who play there only receive $10 a night for performing despite the cover charge put on the bills of customers. Then again, I suppose you can’t expect anything else from a venue that is now owned by one of the most notorious oligarchs in Armenia.
