Russian, Armenian Police Practice Quelling Anti-Government Protests

Via Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s English-language web site, AFP reports that Russian and Armenian special police units yesterday conducted a joint excercise in southern Russia.

The exercises come amid signs of nervousness in the Russian administration following popular uprisings in the three former Soviet republics of Georgia, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.
