What the Duck?

Aaron Johnson of What the Duck stumbled upon my blog and sent an email this morning pointing me in the direction of the latest instalment in his comic strip. This time he covers the issue of citizen journalism and photography.

This is quite relevant at the moment given news that Yahoo and Reuters plan to use amateur photographers across the world for content.

“The goal of creating this service is to essentially take advantage of all of the people who are out there with cell phone cameras or portable video cameras who may be a witness to breaking news and give them a very easy one-click access to a global news audience online,” says Scott Moore, head of news and information at the Yahoo Media Group.

Anyway, the What the Duck strip on this latest development can be found here. Made me chuckle, and this was precisely the reason I never wanted to work for regional newspapers in the U.K. Really, cats do make the front page.
