Zhirayr Sefilyan Update
A1 Plus reports that a court has ruled that Lebanon-born ex-Karabakh Commander, Zhirayr Sefilyan, and his local counterpart, Vardan Malkhasyan, can be held for another two months in pre-trial detention.
The Court of the First Instance of Kentron and Norq-Marash communities has decided to prolong the period of imprisonment of Vardan Malkhasyan and Zhirayr Sefilyan for two more months.
The prisoners have announced that they will appeal the court decision.
Leading members of “Armenian Volunteers’ Movement” Zhirayr Sefilyan and Vardan Malkhasyan were arrested on December 10 of the previous year for making calls to change the Constitution by force.
Anyway, despite the evidence the National Security Service (NSS) said it had when the two men were arrested, I guess we can assume that they actually have nothing. Where are you Europe?
Do nothing and I suppose we’ll see more and more opponents of the Government arrested and kept in “pre-trial” detention indefinitely.
This looks to be a very dangerous precedent and can only add weight to accusations that Sefilyan’s arrest was political ahead of the May parliamentary election.

Again, no evidence. None at all. Outrageous.
Still, while Serzh sucks up to the Americans in support of his presidential ambitions, he probably has nothing to worry about. Besides, as we saw in 2003 and 2005, it is not that “2 million 900 thousand” who decides anything in Armenia.

It is frustrating to see that the entire Lebanese-Armenian community here in Beirut & regions, including spiritual, political, cultural, sports organizations and associations, mass media, doesn’t give a shit to what’s happening with one of its sons - our contemporary, Gharabagh hero Zhirayr Sefilian’s case , who was one of the seldom, few dozen diasporans who fought for the liberation of Artsakh. Another proof of degeneration and animal-like fear reigning in the ranks of the “nation”.

Do not blame any community when there is nothing clear infront of it . He was a brave commander, but then what did he do post-war? If u know the reason behind the arrest, in details and with an objective approach plz let me know. somebody523@yahoo.com
